Michael Wayne Hubbell passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the age of 71. Born July 13, 1954, Mike was the son of the late Samuel Smith Hubbell, Jr. and the late Betty Jean Weatherford Hubbell. On March 25, 1993, he married Donna Jones Hubbell, and a few years later, they were blessed by the birth of their son Dylan Wayne Hubbell.

Mike was a 1973 graduate of Culleoka High School and a lifelong resident of the Culleoka community. He loved the close ties with his Culleoka friends and neighbors and had a sense of humor that could easily make them laugh. He was skilled in many areas such as welding and mechanics and enjoyed DIY projects, tinkering with cars, and horseback riding. He was a long time employee of Averitt Express and a member of the South Gate Church of Christ. Despite physical challenges throughout most of his adult life, Mike was determined to live fully with love and joy in his heart and a smile on his face.

Survivors include his devoted wife Donna and their son Dylan and fiancé Ashley Sorensen; brother Randy (Mallory) Hubbell, sisters Pam Smith (Robby Senn) and Lisa (Ed) Sumosky; uncle Larry Hubbell; aunt Jane Hubbell; sisters-in-law Pam Burgett, Linda Kuykendall, Lori Jones; brothers-in-law Randy (Melissa) Jones and Roger Jones (Mary Voorhies); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 23, at 11:00 A.M. at the South Gate Church of Christ with John Thomas and Ben Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Culleoka Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church building from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M on Monday, September 22.

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Smith, Jared Smith, Sam Hubbell, Ben Hubbell, Alex Jones, and Josh Jones.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the love and kindness shown to them throughout the last few weeks. Mike was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
