Judy Vondell Avery

Judy Vondell Avery, 89, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on September 20, 2022.
Judy was born October 14, 1932, in Gilmer, Texas, to Ellie Franklin Johnson and Bessie Mae Risher Johnson.
She was an avid painter and bird watcher. She enjoyed traveling north during the hot Texas summers and trips to the Hill Country to gather content for her paintings. Her most rewarding work was done at Child Protective Services as a Case Manager for the State of Texas. The lives she touched both in work and in life were always enriched and her kindness was always beyond measure. We are saddened beyond words that this life and light has passed.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; Ellie and Bessie Mae, husband, Dr. Wilbur G. Avery; brother, Truman M. Johnson and a sister, Barbara L. Johnson Flinn.
She is survived by her sons, John Truman and wife, Melissa, Bob Truman; sisters, Annette Loyd, Genevieve Bolsenga; grandchildren, Elizabeth Truman, Lauren Truman and Aaron Dunbar.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Sand Hill Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:30 PM TO 2:00 PM prior to the service at Sand Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sand Hill Cemetery Fund.
