Judy Carolyn Johnson Bertaux, age 77, of Cherryville, passed away September 28, 2025, at Atrium Health Lincoln. Judy was born October 28, 1947, in Gaston County, to the late Ed and Iola Mae Bumgardner Johnson.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. All the grandchildren and great grandchildren always wanted their "Maw Maw". I (Jr.) had the joy of spending over 35 years with this wonderful woman. She helped make me the man I am today. She was the glue that held the family together and always wanted everyone to stay connected. Always wanting to put the kids 1st, making sure they had what they needed, and letting them know she loved them. She will be missed, but never ever forgotten! She is in a better place now and is no longer suffering.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Elwyn Nelson Bertaux "Jr."; children, Mike Pressley and Lisa Pressley; grandchildren who she helped raise, Brandon Light and Steven Wall; great grandchildren, Easton, Carter, and Jameson; and poodle, Cooper.
In accordance with Judy's wishes, no formal services will be planned.
