Judy Ann Averette Cedotal, age 70 of Cottondale, passed away July 5, 2024 at home. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Ray Hallman officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale. Visitation will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
She is preceded in death by her father; John Ander Averette, mother; Lillie P. Averette, brothers; Elvester Averette and Billy Averette and one sister; Janey C. Averette.
She is survived by her sons; John Melford Fondren III (Mhia), one grandson; John Melford Fondren IV, brothers; Elester and Travis Averette, sisters; Betty Fikes and Gayvon Lee (Spencer) all of Duncanville. Judy had many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
Judy graduated high school in 1972 from Holt High School. She went on to have a family and dedicated her life to help others in need. She truly lived with a servants heart everyday, She loved to volunteer her time at Christian Ministry Center every week. She had a love for flowers and gardening, also collecting different different dishes and trinkets. One of her most favorite things was being able to spend time and loving on all of her family and friends. Her family describes her as loving, full of joy, and laughter always willing to drop whatever she was doing to help you in any way. Judy had a free spirit about her. Fly high Judy and rest in peace until we meet again.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Averette, Charles Averette, Hunter Fikes, Nick Wood, Spencer Lee, Casey Page, Alan Page, and Gary Fikes. Honorary pallbearers are special friend Sandra Hayes, Sonya and Rueben , The special men and women at Christian Ministries, the Duncanville and Cottondale community family and friends.
