Judy Darlene Choate, 78 years of age, of Dickson, TN, November 17, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born on June 29, 1947, in Dickson, Tennessee, to the late, Jack Jr. and Agnes (Meek) Burch. Judy's journey was marked by a boundless capacity for love, a dedication to caring for others, and a spirited enthusiasm for life's many joys.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Donnie Choate; two sons, Rex (Leah) Choate and Brian (Angel) Choate; granddaughters, Alexa Choate, Jaclyn Choate (Austen Vanderhoof), Laken (Zachary) Harris, Annie Lea Choate; great-grandchildren, Grayson Harris and Camden Harris; and her best friend, Fay Neblett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Ray Burch.
Judy was family oriented, dedicated and very loyal, with a little bit of sassy. A woman of diverse interests, Judy's love of travel took her to many places, creating memories that she would fondly recount. She was a passionate supporter of the University of Tennessee Vols, her enthusiasm spanning football, softball, and basketball. Judy lived through the era of Peyton Manning, whom she faithfully cheered, and her love for football continued with her admiration for the talent of Trevor Lawrence. Her commitment to her community was evident in her professional life. After earning an associate's degree in nursing, she provided compassionate care at the old Goodlark Hospital and Jackson Clinic. Her caring nature led her to open and operate Guardian Angel Daycare, where she nurtured many young lives with the same love and attention she gave to her own family. Judy's civic spirit shone through her involvement with the Dickson County Cancer Auction and the Dickson County Election Commission, where she served with dedication and a desire to make a difference.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
Visitation and Funeral services will be at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.; and will resume on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
