Patricia Kaye Choate, age 70, of Pickens, Oklahoma, died Sunday, October 19, 2025, at her home. She was born on June 11, 1955 to Culbertson Noah Sr. and Ora Mae Watson in Talihina, Oklahoma.
Kaye was a devoted woman of God whose greatest joy was sharing her faith with everyone she met. Her love for the Lord shone brightly through her words, her kindness, and her service to others. For more than 30 years, she was a faithful member of Abundant Life Center in Pickens, Oklahoma, where her faith and compassion touched countless hearts.
Kaye deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and treasured every moment spent with them. She was also immensely proud of her Choctaw heritage and devoted much of her life to preserving her culture. For 15 years, she taught the Choctaw language in Durant, Oklahoma for the Choctaw Nation, helping to keep the language alive for future generations. One of her proudest accomplishments was contributing to the translation of the English dictionary into Choctaw, where her name is honored as a contributor.
Outside of her work and ministry, Kaye loved the simple joys of life. She enjoyed fishing, beading, and spending time outdoors. In her younger years, she played softball on the A-Team and was known for her competitive spirit and love of the game. She also had a special talent in the kitchen-her one-of-a-kind fried pies were famous among family and friends and loved by everyone lucky enough to taste them.
