Richard (Rick) Keck – age 72 of Corryton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday, May 9, 2025, after a long and courageous battle. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church from childhood. He was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, class of 1971, the University of Tennessee, and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Union County School System for 35 years serving as the auto technician teacher and vocational director where he was instrumental in bringing new programs to the school. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mary Walker Keck, Swan and Erba Keck; parents, Rev. Bobby and Bernice Keck; sister, Lori Gayle Nicely; special friend, Keith Heiskell.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Keck; children, Kristy Keck (Rick), Bobby Keck (Brittani); step-daughter, Katrina French (Tommy); grandchildren, Makayla Dixon (Bobby), Brayden Moore, Peyton Keck (Emery), Skyler Bargainnier (Shelby), Trinity Bargainnier, Bryson French; his pride and joy great-grandson, Little Joe Dixon; brothers, Michael Keck (Debra), Mark Keck (Chrissi); sisters, Carolyn Chesney (Carl), Connie Garner (Benny), Sharon Crass (Andy), Tracy Jackson (Raymond); special friends, Linda Keck, James Heiskell, Alan Roach. The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful healthcare staff at Select Specialty Hospital North for the amazing and wonderful care they provided.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Michael Keck and Rev. Jack Walker, music by Debra Keck. There will be a Military service following the memorial service at the funeral home, Military honors by Tri-County Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Wounded Warrior Project or any Army Veteran Foundation in his memory. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville.
