Judy Hicks Davis, age 79, of Hanceville, passed away on August 1, 2025.
She was born on September 19, 1945, to Nona and Velton Hicks of Mulga, Alabama. She attended Minor High School and later married Joe Davis of Cordova. They lived in the Smith Lake area for many years. Judy and Joe were married for 53 wonderful years.
Judy is survived by brothers, Dean Hicks (Joyce), Joe Hicks (Gale), Roger Hicks; sisters, Joyce Burgett (Walter), Joan Newell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Davis; parents, Nona and Velton Hicks; sister, Janice Johnson; sister-in-law, Shirley Hicks.
Judy was a strong, independent woman in mind, body, and spirit. Being self-reliant and efficient at so many things, she could fix almost anything without advice or assistance. She was an intelligent, kind, and loving woman. Her generosity toward others knew no bounds. She enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and playing golf in her younger days, as well as traveling with her beloved husband, Joe. Never having kids of her own, she enjoyed being around babies and children, playing and doting on them, and spoiling them when she could. Judy especially enjoyed having family for big family meals she had prepared, or everyone together for family gatherings or reunions. Her kindness, welcoming nature, and genuine love for others made her a pleasure to be around. Judy will be missed by loved ones and friends.
Visitation will be held at Crestview Memorial FH, Adamsville, AL. Wednesday, August 6, from 10:00-10:30 AM.
