Judy was born June 10th,1957 to Thomas and Dorothy Law. Judy was one of six children. She grew up in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from North Mesquite High School.
After graduation she went on to marry Lance Carter and together they were blessed with a son, Jason Carter. She later married Thomas "Tommy" Long and together they welcomed a son Jeff Long, completing her family. Judy and Tommy shared a loving 39 year marriage filled with laughter and cherished memories.
While her children were young, she was a devoted stay-at-home mother. . As her children grew up she began a career in banking, where she truly flourished. She loved her customers, built lasting relationships, and continued to work in the field she enjoyed so much.
One of Judy's greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. She rarely missed a chance to be in the stands cheering them on at their games and activities. When she wasn't at a field watching them play sports, she loved spending her time sewing and crafting, hobbies that brought her both relaxation and pride.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Law and her 5 siblings and loving husband Thomas Long.
Judy is survived by her son Jason Carter and wife Michelle of Wylie, Tx, her son Jeff Long and wife Amy of Mesquite, Tx. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jaleigh and Jace Carter, Peyton Pruitt, Kolby and Kaden Long as well as 2 great grandchildren. Judy is also survived by her nephew, Ben Law, and wife Emily along with many other nieces and nephews.

Judy was such an inspiration. The genuine concern and care she had for all of her customers and colleagues was awesome. I met Judy in 2005 and she was just as up beat and friendly then as she was when she passed. I will miss her friendship. She truly was one special lady. We will meet again Judy in our Fathers House. Until then I will miss you my friend.

I was very saddened to hear about Judy's passing. There was not a more genuine, kind, and compassionate person than Judy. It was an honor to work with Judy. She was always so kind, positive, and uplifting when I spoke with her. She will be very much missed! The Champaigne Family is sending many hugs and prayers to all who knew Judy. I am deeply saddened to hear of Judy's passing. It was truly a privilege to work with such a dedicated, kind talented individual. Judy's contributions to her team and the Veritex Family were invaluable, and her positive sprit touched everyone who she had the honor of knowing them. Judy Long will be greatly missed, and her memory will remain in our hearts, heartfelt condolence goes out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Judy, I cannot believe that you are not here. We would talk on the phone a lot about signature cards, close outs and family. I have never met you. However, I kind of tried to put a face to the person on the phone. I was really close of what you looked like. I will miss you very much. I am in shock. I have a lot of memories of you that I will hold dear to my heart. We have been through so many take overs at the bank. I know you were looking forward to the Huntington take over. God knows you deserved the best because you were a great person. Veritex Bank is Judy Bank. Thanks for teaching me so much about the banking industry. Judy was the best person ever. Family, thanks for sharing Judy with me. She was a beautiful person.
