Christian Biography of Judy Allene Schott Judy Allene (Langer) Schott, the daughter of Glen (Pidge) and Frieda (Harkins) Langer, was born on August 11, 1940, on a farmstead in Jewell County, Kansas. She passed away on May 31, 2025, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, Nebraska at the age of 84 years 9 months and 20 days. Judy attended school in Superior, graduating from Superior High School with the class of 1958 and completed a summer course of college in Omaha, Nebraska. She was married to Alvin LeRoy Schott on September 6, 1959, at the United Methodist Church in Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with three children, Sandra, Susan and Sheri. Judy was first hired by the ASCS (Government Office) in
Nelson, Nebraska and worked there until her first child, Sandra, was born. In 1976, she started working for the City of Nelson by taking care of the City Auditorium. Judy agreed to work part time in the City of Nelson's Office in January 1980. Judy was appointed City Clerk/Treasurer in April 1987 and held the position until 2009. She still wanted to be involved and took the part time Deputy Clerk position and retired in 2016. Judy loved the community and helped in various ways. She sold make-up, was a Brownie and Junior Girl Scout Leader, and helped with 4-H. She received the Gold Clover 4-H Leadership award, while helping her daughters sing in 4-H. Judy was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir. As a church member she served on several committees and attended board meetings. Judy was a member of DAR, Nelson Swingers Club, Red Rubies, and Pleasure Cruisers. Together with Alvin, they enjoyed going to the lake with their girls, showing off their 1968 Chevy purple pickup, and spending time with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Glen (Pidge) and Frieda Langer; her husband Alvin; and her sisters, DeVee Smalley, Crystal Marker and Frona Wall and her brother Joe Jay Langer. Survivors include her three daughters Sandra (Ronald) Schendt of
Nelson, NE, Susan (Cameron) Trombley of Raleigh, NC and Sheri (Robert "Art") Watts of Colorado Springs, CO. Five grandchildren; Lance Schendt, Deidre Nielsen, Camron Watts, Travis Watts and Alyssa Watts. Three great grandchildren; Carter Nielsen, Charlie Nielsen, and Lainey Watts. Brother Stephen (Lee) Langer of Upton, WY, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Graveside Services will be held at the Nelson Cemetery on the 14th day, of June 2025, at 10:00 am by Pastor Ivan and Joyce Dean.
