Judy Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferreira Funeral Services (Jacksonville) on Mar. 3, 2026.
Judy Ann Smith, 62, passed away on February 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to her family and friends.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Judy was the cherished daughter of her Mama and Daddy, Nellie Irvin McNeilly and Jesse Williams. She carried her Southern roots with pride throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Williams.

For the past 30-plus years, Judy was a proud resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She was happily married for 31 wonderful years to the love of her life, Larry Smith. Together they built a life centered around family, laughter, and shared passions.

Judy was a loving wife, stepmom, nana, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a devoted stepmother to Shellie (David) Lee, Michael (Sarah) Smith, David (Krystal) Smith, and Mikayla Smith. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into caring for each of them.

She was a wonderful cook and baker who found true happiness in preparing meals for the people she loved. Her kitchen was often filled with the smells of home-cooked favorites and sweet treats, and her table was always open to anyone who needed a place to gather. Judy also had a gift for bringing people together. She loved planning events, handling the catering, and making sure every detail was just right-her greatest reward was seeing others smile.

Her love of animals started when she was little and continued her whole life.

Her loyal brown Labrador, Dixie brought her many years of love and companionship.

Judy will be remembered as someone who worked hard, loved deeply and as someone who was always willing to help others.

An enthusiastic hunter, Judy treasured the time she spent outdoors hunting alongside her husband. Those moments were among her happiest, creating memories they both held dear.

Judy is survived by her beloved Mama, Nellie McNeilly; her devoted husband, Larry;

her brother, JL (April) Williams,

sisters Brenda (David) Green and Alice (Gene) Willis; her children; 11 grandchildren;

3 great grandchildren and many uncles, aunts, neices, nephews & cousins and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Gone way too soon, Judy's spirit of generosity, strength, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy is one of kindness, faithfulness, and a life beautifully lived for others.
