Judy K. Stewart age 84 of Rockford passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and is now safe in the arms of Jesus. She has gone to be with her Savior; her husband, Gary; son, David; grandson, Isaac; her parents and many other family and friends.
Judy was born February 6, 1941, in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Robert “Red” and Margaret (Gwin) Woodward. She attended Milwood School, University High and graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Kalamazoo; Terre Haute, IN; Mattawan; Port Huron; and Greenville. Judy was married to her soulmate, Gary, and served the Lord with him in many churches. She loved serving the Lord by playing her flute (most recently in Grace Gospel Band), and by working in a variety of children’s ministry including kids choirs, Awana, Sunday School and Good News Clubs. She was always ready for the next adventure and wanted to know all about the adventures her family was having. The greatest desire of her heart was to know that her entire family knew Jesus personally, and she prayed daily for each one.
Judy spent thirteen winters in Florida. She loved her church and friends there. She served where she could. She loved it when her family and friends came to visit.
Surviving are her loving sons, Scott (Sheila) Stewart of Rockford, Dan (Nancy) Stewart of Shelby Township; grandchildren, Jon (Fernanda), Marc and Caleb; Kate Williams, Tyler (Alina), Jamin (Allie), Kenan (Amanda), Naomi, Cecelia; great grandchildren, Liam, Judah, Callum, Lilyana and Selah; very special friends, John and Betty Beck.
The family will greet friends Thursday, October 16 from 5 – 8 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, 13603 Northland Dr., Cedar Springs. The service will be held Friday, October 17 at 3:00 pm at Magnify Church – Northview Campus, 4162 Hunsberger Avenue, Grand Rapids with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.
