Judy Whaley

Judy Pearl Whaley, 79, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:37 am November 19, 2025 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born February 20, 1946 in Mount Vernon to the late Roy and Allie (McLaughlin) Rash. Judy married Richard Whaley on September 30, 1995. They were blessed with 30 years of marriage.
In addition to her beloved husband, Judy is survived by her children, James "Jim" Bates and Faith of Garland, Texas and Cyndi Horton and husband, Joel of Keenes, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Lisa Bates; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her first husband, David Bates; son, Barney Bates; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Berniece, Nelda, and Johnetta.
Judy was a born again Christian and enjoyed watching the online Sunday service at Central Christian Church each week. She loved her dog Lizzie and watching game shows on the Game Show Network. She also enjoyed watching Survivor. Judy will be deeply missed.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Woodlawn, Illinois where Mr. Dane Horton will recall fond memories of her.
