Julia R. Cavazos, age 60, of Floydada, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Floyd County Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00AM - 12:00 PM at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Services under the personal care of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Julia was born May 1, 1963, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jesus and Guadalupe (Noriega) Reyes. She attended school in Corpus Christi, graduating from Tuluso Midway. In 1997 she and her family moved to Floydada, which she would call home for the rest of her life. Julia had a giving heart which was reflected in her career as a caregiver. She would help anyone that needed assistance. She was a woman of very few words but when she spoke, she could put a smile on any one's face. Julia loved to do crossword puzzles, whether that was in the Sunday newspaper edition or a booklet. When there were garage sales going on, that is where she was likely to be found. Most importantly, her grandchildren were her everything, she was always calling and checking on them. If they needed anything, Momo was on her way to get what they needed. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She is preceded in death by one son, Salvador Cavazos, Jr, four brothers, Jimmy Reyes, Reynaldo Reyes, Joe Reyes and Alveristo Reyes, and her parents, Jesus and Guadalupe Reyes.
Julia is survived by one son, Andrew Tyson Cavazos of Floydada, one daughter, Crystal Lynn Medellin of Brownfield, three grandchildren, Karah Lianne Cavazos, Nori Alyna Medellin, Elyanna Hailey Medellin all of Floydada. She is also survived by three brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
