Graveside Services for Julia Lee Sander, 89 of Seiling will be Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Riley Cemetery South of Cestos with Dennis Adair officiating under the direction of the Pierce Funeral Home in Fairview.
Julia Lee, daughter of Noble and Margaret Belle (Terrel) Cain, was born on July 2, 1936, in Cestos, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at her home in Seiling, at the age of 89 years and three months.
Julia attended and graduated from Richmond High School in 1954, where she enjoyed playing softball and basketball.
On July 11, 1954, Julia was united marriage to Henry Clay "Jerry" Sander Jr. at the Cestos Assembly of God Church. Together, they built a loving home and raised four children: Billy Clyde, Judy LeAnn, Shelley DeLynn, and Pamela JoLene.
Jerry and Julia owned and operated Sander Trucking, Inc. until 1975 when Jerry decided to start farming to which Julie always said "he could have picked a cheaper hobby". In 1983, they began a new adventure with Julie's Glass and Jerry's Junk, later expanding to an antique store in downtown Seiling. The two shared a passion for traveling to antique shows, restoring furniture, and discovering unique treasures together.
In 1994, they moved to their farm northwest of Seiling, where they spent many happy years. Julia was a proud founding and active member of the First Baptist Church of Seiling, where she joyfully taught music to Sunday School classes for many years and her and Jerry spent many hours creating crafts for Vacation Bible School.
Julia found great joy in quilting and spending time at her sewing machine, crafting with care and love. She was never very fond of the hundreds of Bottle calves Jerry a would bring home, but she loved seeing the joy that they brought to him and her grandchildren. She was always happiest when having her grandchildren nearby-baking treats, riding four-wheelers, and watching The Golden Girls together. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the sweet smell of something baking.
Julia is survived by her son, Bill Sander and wife Joy, their children Scott Sander and wife Tobi, Kristy McCurley and husband Brandon, and Maria Sander; daughter LeAnn Walters and husband Allen, their children Dustin Hunter and Aaron Walters; daughter Shelley Bain and husband Steve, their children Andrew Sander, Kelsey Bain and partner Chris Wall, John MacBain and wife Ashley; and daughter Pam Nichols and husband Michael, their children Jeremy Nichols and wife Sara, Zachary Nichols and wife Rochelle, and Bethaney Carlisle and husband Blake, sixteen great-grandchildren: Dylan, Haden, Haley and Brooklyn Sander; Chase McCurley and wife Ashely; Abby McCurley and fiancé Noah Sims; Kaileb House and wife Marissa; Koeby House and wife Summer; Kaidence Hunter; Benjamin and Carly Bain, Lenora MacBain, Jake, Atley, Lyndlea & Jaxon Nichols; and Ava and Jett Blu Carlisle; as well as five great-great-grandchildren: Knox, Kyla and Maya Beth House; Oaklynn & Dru McCurley; her sister-in-law Beverly Autry; brothers-in-law Beans Harrel and Ernie Margwarth; and sisters-in-law Lois and Kaye Cain.
Julia's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her caregivers-Melissa Hindman, Helen Sweet, Lynn Upchurch, and Bonnie Hines and Dr. Kenneth Duffy - whose loving care made it possible for Julia to remain at home during the past eight years. She dearly loved each of you.
