Jim Mueller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pierce Funeral Home - Fairview on Dec. 9, 2025.
James "Jim" Robert Mueller, II, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. He was born on May 17, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. Jim graduated from Shawnee Mission High School and went on to attend Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army as an artillery specialist. After completing his service, he built a remarkable and varied career as an entrepreneur, finding success in many ventures, including two Taco Mayo franchises, a video rental and gift store, a screen-printing business, and a banking computer repair business.

In 1981, Jim and his family made their home in Fairview, Oklahoma, where he lived for 44 years. Deeply committed to his community, he served on the City Council and as Mayor, always striving to give back to the town he loved.

Jim's talents and passions extended far beyond his work. He enjoyed boating and skiing on Grand Lake, lovingly built clubhouses for each of his children, and treasured classic cars. One of his proudest accomplishments was the restoration of a 1936 Plymouth Coupe gifted to him by his father-in-law, Gerald Rusch. In his later years he enjoyed watching Sci-Fi with his treasured pup, Max in his favorite recliner, "Big Red."

On November 18, 1984, Jim was baptized and devoted his life to serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was evident in both his words and actions, and he was a steadfast spiritual leader for his family.

Jim was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a man of deep integrity. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Stefanie Mueller; his children Kelly Mueller-McNulty (John), James Robert Mueller, III, and Matthew J. Mueller (Rachel); and his grandchildren, Conor Mueller and Trek Mueller. He is also survived by his brother, Lynn Mueller (Linda).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Mueller; his father, James Robert Mueller, I; and his brother, Steve Mueller.

Jim lived his life never knowing a stranger. His sharp sense of humor, unwavering kindness, and strong character left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Fairview Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Passini officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview, Oklahoma. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
