Julia Ann D. Smith, 92, of Orange Park, FL died on July 17, 2024 at Middleburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born on June 3, 1932 at McKinley Hospital in Trenton, NJ and educated in the Trenton Public School system. She married James D. Smith on March 4, 1956. They had two daughters, Gail and Patricia.
Julia supported her family faithfully and proudly as a domestic worker in the Mercer County area for many decades. In retirement, she dedicated her time to caring for her family, including her great-grandchildren.
Julia was an avid reader, particularly of biographies. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and watching true crime programs and documentaries.
She always looked forward to her annual family summer vacations whether spent at a beach house on the east coast or cruising the Caribbean.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Florence McQuilla Davis; one sister, Katherine Davis and brothers, Lorenzo Davis, Jr. and Carroll Davis.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Gail Diane Smith-Mingo and Patricia Lynn Smith; grandchildren, Nicole Cherise McCain (nee Mingo), her husband, Charles, Tashia Evans (nee Mingo), her husband, Demetrius, and Kerron Jamil Smith; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Lucille McCain, Kerron Turner, Kailah Smith and Quincy Julian McCain, as well as best friend Leola Beckham.
