Beloved husband of Zena (Lifschitz) and devoted father of three daughters and one son: Dale (Heffler) of
Scotch Plains, Cathy of Franklin Lakes, Jody (Sullivan) of Montvale and Stuart of North Plainfield; all in NJ.
He also treasured his sons-in-law, Andrew Heffler and Thomas Sullivan, and his daughter-in-law, Linda
Flint. Proud grandfather of Amanda Curto (Michael), Joshua Heffler (Brittany) Aiden Lipper (Rebecca),
Hannah Lipper (Erick) Kenzie, Jadyn and Kerrin Sullivan. Great-grandfather to Tillie and Ozzy Curto.
Loving brother to Claire Sable and Sandra Palughi (James). Predeceased by parents, Morris and Helen
and sister Gladys, all of Brooklyn, NY.
Julie was born in Brooklyn and lived between Brooklyn and Philadelphia throughout his young/teenage
years. He attended City College. At 18 he was introduced to the 16-year-old Zena, who instantly became
and remained the love of his life. They spent much of their married life of 72 years traveling around the
country and the world for business and pleasure, meeting a wide range of people and making friends in
every port.
Julie enjoyed a successful career as an importer/exporter of copper, brass, and metals, conducting
business both domestically and internationally. However, he always considered family his primary
responsibility and joy. He channeled his considerable writing skills by sending passionate letters to his
legislative representatives about social issues that were important to him. He also wrote many, many
"letters to the editor" about those same issues, and penned beautifully written letters and e-mails to his
family and friends as well as constant love letters to his Zena.
His life represents a legacy of love, laughter, family and all that is good. A life well lived and well loved.
The world is diminished with his passing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the name of Julian Lipper may be given to the Southern Poverty
Law Center, DONOT and the Alzheimer's Association.

Julian was my Cousin. I remember him I was a Child when my Mom, now Late Dad, my Brother and I were at my Late Great Aunt Helen's and my Cousin Claire's home in New York. Julian was filling up 2 empty milk gallon bottles of New York water because it tasted like spring water, which I think it was actually spring water. Cousin Julian also wrote my Late Dad an amusing detailed letter about his search for a certain Cesare Salad dressing from a restaurant in California, where my now Late Dad lived before marrying my Mom. My Mom, Suzanne and I give our sincere condolences to Zena and their Children. I personally believe that Cousin Julian is in the Spiritual World now and maybe my Late Dad and my Cousin Julian are enjoying some Caesar Salad together.
