Julian Martinez, 70, a resident of Tierra Amarilla passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025. Julian will be remembered for his love of the mountains where he hunted and fished, picking choke cherries to make wine, restoring old vehicles, and working on wood projects. He had a lifelong love for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, where he worked tirelessly for many years. He was a man who enjoyed tequila and reminiscing about the good old days, especially with his best friend Steve Mosely. He was proud of his sons and enjoyed supporting them in sports and their achievements.
Julian was preceded in death by his parents, Seledon and Magdalena Martinez, brothers, Johnny Martinez and Alex Martinez, and grandson, Jordan Martinez. He is survived by his children, Ronnie Martinez (Rachel Vicenti), James Martinez (Stephanie), Tommy Martinez (Debbie); seven grandchildren, Gabriel Martinez, Bryce, Julianna, Audrina Martinez, Aiden, and Aubrianna Martinez; and one great grandchild Nevaeh Martinez; siblings, Tony Martinez, Joe Martinez (Valentina), Priscilla
Martinez, Timmy Martinez (Irene), and many other relatives and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Mosely, Herbert Sanchez, Michael Ulibarri, Joseph Sanchez, Edward Buffet, and Geraldine Anaya.
The family will announce service details once plans are finalized.
