Matthew Peña Obituary
Matthew Ryan Peña, age 43, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Matthew was born on February 17, 1982, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, to Deborah and Antonio Peña. He graduated from Dulce High School in 2000, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, football team and chess team.
He had a passion for cooking and worked in various restaurants throughout his career. He was employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory at the time of this death.
He is preceded in death by his brother Daniel “Donuts” Peña, and his grandparents Augustina and Pablo Peña and Betty and Bud Richerson.
He is survived by his girlfriend Tinisha Sandoval, his parents, his sister Sarah (Chris) Herrera, his brother Rob (Johanna) Peña, 7 nieces and 6 nephews.
Matthew had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand to others. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and taking care of his 3 chihuahuas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His life will be celebrated at a later date.
