Julian Murray, age 83, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Reidsville on September 3, 1941 to Fleming and Maybelle Crews Murray and had lived in Tattnall County all of his life.
For 18 years, Julian served diligently with the Georgia Department of Corrections, where his commitment and hard work did not go unnoticed. After his retirement, he continued to share his expertise and passion in the workforce by being a homebuilder and for the past 20 years working alongside his son, Randal, at RCL Enterprises. This partnership not only showcased his dedication to his career but also highlighted the deep bond he shared with his family.
Julian was known for his vibrant personality, always ready to bring smiles to those around him with his quick wit and penchant for cracking jokes. His jovial spirit was infectious, making every gathering a joyful occasion. Beyond his professional life, Julian had a profound love for nature, particularly enjoying hunting and fishing during his leisure time. These hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and brought him much joy throughout his life.
He is a member of Elza Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, JF Wilds, Carl Murray, Jimmy Murray, Aubrey Murray, Johnnie Bell Rogers, Marie Lindsay, Lou Nell Powell and Betty Carol Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Brenda Murray of Reidsville; his sons and daughters in law, Bryan and Melissa Murray, Randal and Lisa Murray and Kerry and Lynn Murray all of Reidsville; sister and brother in law, Linda and Wilburn Dooley of Reidsville; grandchildren, Candice (Scott) Dangar, Brittany (Mike) Rogers, Kyle Murray, Dalton Murray, Meagan (Jordy) Rhiner, and Brooke Murray; great grandchildren, Colin Erwin, Brynn Erwin, Faithlyn Dangar, Rhett Rogers, Reece Rogers, Lynlee Rhiner, Randy Colson, Luke Colson, and Haze Colson; numerous nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Reverend Kenny Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Murray, Dane Murray, Donavan Murray, Cole Murray, Colin Erwin, and Jordy Rhiner
Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s's Children Hospital
Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Murray family.
