Obituary of Julian M. Schaffer
Mr. Julian M. Schaffer, 30, of St. Johnsville, NY, passed away at his home on May 8th, 2025.
Julian was born in Cooperstown, NY, on August 20, 1994, the son of Shane and Jacquelyn Putman Schaffer.
He attended St. Johnsville and Little Falls Schools.
Most of his life, he lived in St. Johnsville, and for a brief time in Tennessee.
Julian enjoyed camping, being outdoors, exploring abandoned buildings and traveling with his very good friend Henry, photographing places they explored. He was a talented photographer with a keen eye for beauty in unexpected places.
He was also very involved with the Utica Hardcore Music Scene and loved attending shows with his very good friend Matson.
Julian was very artistic and greatly enjoyed creating street graffiti and has left his tag name "Reck" all over the East Coast and as far as Chicago and California.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Carol Putman and his beloved dog of 19 years, Boss.
Besides his parents he is survived by his aunt, Jennifer Scripter; uncles Chris Schaffer, Travis Schaffer, and Michael Putman; maternal Grandfather Jon Putman; paternal Grandfather Robert Schaffer, and maternal Grandmother Debra and her husband, Dixon McFee; and his best friends Henry Kestner, Henry's father Larry Kestner and Matson Stevenson.
Julian was truly unique and was a force to be reckoned with. He was a sensitive, kind and gentle soul who will be profoundly missed. Julian was deeply loved. The sun will not shine as brightly without him.
