Julie A. Bergstrom

Julie A. Bergstrom, 77, of Rockford passed away in her home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, under the care of OSF Hospice. Born May 20, 1947, in Rockford, the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Ulin) Bergstrom. She attended college at UW Madison and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Julie worked as a phone operator at Kraft Foods/Oscar Mayer for 24 years, retiring in 2012. Her retirement ended privileged parking near the Weinermobile.
She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Bergstrom of Rockford, and Sara (Wade) Paquette of Waxhaw NC, her brother, Charles (Malia) Bergstrom, six nieces and nephews, as well as twelve grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents.
While she loved her sisters equally, Chuck was clearly the favorite of her brothers.
Julie was known to be fun loving, silly, artsy, youthful. She had a way of taking simple and keeping it simple while making it striking. She loved glitter and the color green and sticking stems in bottles. She also loved sarcasm but could be caring, serious, thoughtful and profound with the best of them. Her taste in literature and gift giving was expansive, eclectic, and overall glorious.
A few days before her April 01, 2025 diagnosis of cancer, Julie was able to make her annual spring pilgrimage to Pepper Creek to buy ranunculus plants and a bouquet of tulips. Those blooms kept her happy in her hospice days. Her sadness in sickness was that no food tasted good---not even her beloved Great Harvest honey whole wheat bread toasted and spread with peanut butter.
Julie's one wish as she approached her death was to see family from afar and then to go home to be with Jesus. Father God gave her that heart's desire. She passed peacefully and is now in heaven with her Lord. She has finally found her toes and will hear Poodle Truth for all of eternity.
