Julie Lynn Hall, 63, of Frostburg, MD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2025, leaving behind a world that is a bit brighter and more colorful because of her presence.
Born on April 11, 1962, Julie grew up in Frostburg, surrounded by her siblings, cousins, neighbors, and the close-knit community that fostered her lifelong love of family. She was the daughter of the late George and Elaine Winner and the sister of Debbie Brailer (Bill), Wayne Winner, Cathy Bereths (Leo), and Marty Winner (Shelly). Julie cherished her daughter, Rachael Nuzzo; her husband, Ryan; and her grandson, Rylee, who had her wrapped around his little finger from day one.
Julie’s greatest joy was being a mother to Rachael and a devoted grandmother to Rylee. She also loved Rachael’s husband, Ryan, as if he were her own son.
Julie embraced life through her love of family, flowers, and laughter, always finding joy in the small things. Her garden was art--that got watered. Her cats were cherished family members, each with their own personalities. As for Julie herself, she was one of a kind. And we loved her. Her fingernails were always long and painted, her car was often a mess, but her garden looked like something out of a magazine. She was a testament to the idea that perfection is overrated—life is better lived with personality.
Friends and family describe Julie as having a heart of gold and a sense of humor to match. She loved deeply, laughed often, and had a unique ability to make people feel special.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Durst Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to visit from 2–4 p.m., with Father Doug Kenney offering words of support and love at 4 p.m.
Julie would want to be remembered with laughter, not tears—so in her honor, consider planting a flower, rescuing a cat, or leaving your car a little messy.
