Julie Ann Owens
Flat Rock, North Carolina. Julie Owens, 82, passed away on February 21, 2024 at The Elizabeth House, Four Seasons Hospice in Flat Rock, NC.
Long time resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Julian Van Bateman and Lawanna Mae Upson of Texarkana , Arkansas. She was preceded in death by Leland Gary Goldman in August 2020. Julie is survived by her devoted daughter Rebekah Lynn Hearne, her beautiful granddaughter Aisling Aila Hearne, her gentle & loving furbabies Beau & LeeLee Hearne ( all who got to visit her that last day to say how much they loved her) !! She also left behind an entire Village & Hamlet full of neighbors and friends who have encompasses both her and Rebekah in so much love that it's almost too touching for words! They have elected to create a Pet Memorial Garden and dedicate it in Julie's honor for their love of her and her love of their pets! Words cannot express what an honor it is, except to say that I truly have chosen the right place to bring my mother for a Village of love! Thank you ALL!!
Julie loved reading british mysteries, playing games, especially trivia with her friends at her Tiny Home Community. Her favorite thing was civil rights, politics, human rights and giving back to society which she spent the majority of her career doing. On her gentler side, she was a music major, in choirs and little theater much of her life and she never met a pet she didn't insist on cuddling! She gave the very best bear hugs around !! She had a wonderful wit and despite her illness, stayed sharp as a whip!
A small Memorial & Celebration of Julie's life will be held in her Tiny Home Community in the Spring when the flowers she loved will be in bloom. TBD “ In lieu of flowers, Julie requests that memorials be made to the following Foundations your choosing or all:
