Julie Perry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Ipswich on Feb. 12, 2026.
Julie Faye Perry, 61, passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Julie spent the majority of her life residing in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Her happiest place was her family's second home in Standish, Maine, just off of Sebago Lake. For more than fifty years, Julie spent her summers at her beloved "Sebago Hideaway," a place that brought her endless peace and joy. There, she could often be found relaxing by the lake, reading countless books, sharing stories, and spending cherished time with those she loved most. Summers at Sebago were filled with laughter, connection, and memories made alongside her husband, children, grandson, parents, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

To know Julie was to love Julie. She was one of the kindest, most caring, and selfless people one could ever meet. Her smile lit up every room she entered, and she made friends wherever she went. Julie had a beautiful way with words and always made sure the people in her life knew exactly how much they meant to her. She surrounded herself with amazing, supportive friends who truly brought out the best in her.

Julie's family was her entire world. She and her soulmate, Gene, built a wonderful life together, centered on love, laughter, and adventure. They traveled the world, spent endless weekends at Sebago Lake, and were always dreaming up their next adventure. Her son, Christian, was her best friend, adventure buddy, and spontaneous travel partner. She was her daughter Kayla's confidant, shopping partner, and biggest supporter. Julie, along with Gene, lovingly guided Kayla and her husband, Kyle, into parenthood and were beautiful role models of what a parent should be. She always made sure her son-in-law Kyle was well taken care of.

Julie's pride and joy was her grandson, Lucas. She was the most amazing Mimi, spoiling Lucas with love every single day and cherishing every moment spent with him.

Julie worked as a nurse at Salem Hospital for 39 years, where she touched the lives of thousands of patients. She loved meeting new people each day and connecting with her many coworkers, who became dear friends. Julie was proud to mentor new nurses, generously sharing her knowledge, compassion, and deep love for her profession.

The family is profoundly grateful for the exceptional care provided by the nurses, providers, and ancillary staff at Massachusetts General Hospital. They are deeply touched by the overwhelming support and love shown by family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives Julie impacted.

Julie is survived by her loving husband, Gene Perry; her children, Christian Perry and Kayla Chapman; her son-in-law, Kyle Chapman; and her cherished grandson, Lucas Chapman. She is also survived by her parents, Trygve and Faye Christiansen; her brother, John Christiansen, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Christiansen; her niece, Catherine, and nephew, Erik; and by the family of her late brother, James Christiansen, including sister-in-law Lorri Christiansen and nieces Sarah Snow (Aaron, Sam, and Ben Snow) and Kelly Christiansen.

Julie is also survived by her father-in-law, Eugene Perry; her sisters-in-law Mary Riordan, Christine Ryan, and Kathleen Piraino; and her many nieces and nephews, Nico Piraino, Olivia Noel (Kyle Noel), Jaime Ryan-Gilbride (Jeremy Gilbride), Katherine Ryan, Seamus Ryan, and Erin Ryan.

Julie will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, unwavering love for her family, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and love will live on forever.

There will be a celebration of life in honor of Julie, on March 1, 2026, from 1:30 pm until 4 pm at the Ascension Memorial Episcopal Church at 31 County St #33, Ipswich, MA, 01938 (free parking available across the street). As this is a celebration of life, we encourage people to dress in bright, colorful attire. All are welcome!

In lieu of gifts, Julie's family has established the Julie Perry Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund. Beginning in 2027, this scholarship will be available to students pursuing a career in nursing. See link below if you'd like to donate in honor of Julie.
