Julie Ann Turner, age 59, an Antlers, OK resident for the last two years was formerly of Tehachapi, CA. She was born on Tuesday, May 25, 1965, to Ralph Luther and Vivian Diane (Queen) Girado, at Bakersfield, CA. Julie passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Denison, TX. She graduated Foothill High School in Bakersfield, CA with the class of 1983. Julie worked on a ranch, was a photographer, a bus driver and taught her native language. She married David Winfred Turner on Saturday, May 5th, 2001 at Bakersfield, CA. They celebrated over 23 years together before her passing. She practiced her native spirituality and non denomination. Her life was her native work. Julie enjoyed doing native arts and crafts, native cooking, as a member of Kawaiisu Tribe she served as secretary and a board member. She loved horses, ranching and hanging out with family.
Julie is survived by her husband, David Winfred Turner of the home in Antlers, OK; son, Bud Turner and wife Patricia of Antlers, OK; nephew that she raised, Francisco Villa and fiancé Karina of Bakersfield, CA; siblings, Brian Girado of Tehachapi, CA, Joy Golden and husband Galen of Antlers, OK; grandchildren, Chase and Kailyn Turner of Antlers, OK; nieces, Loreen Carothers of Twin Oaks, CA, Lexy Girado of Paso Robles, CA, Echo Girado of Paso Robles, CA; nephew, John Park and wife Brittney of Twin Oaks, CA; great nieces and nephews, Brianna Villa, Jacob, Eli and Lane Carothers, Braxton, Duane Coralee Park, Sophia, and Sybil; aunt, Lucille Hicks of Montclaire, CA; along with many other dear and loved family and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Vivian Girado; great niece, Chancy Carothers; aunt, Betty Hernandez.
