_______

Julio Garcia Bedolla, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Orange, California, on June 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 26, 1935, in Villa Morelos, Michoacán, Mexico, Julio's life was a testament to love, hard work, and unwavering faith.
Julio grew up in the warmth of Morelia, where he attended school and met his lifelong love, Ofelia Vieyra. Their childhood friendship blossomed into a deep love, leading them to marry and share over 60 years of devotion and joy. The strength of their bond was the foundation upon which they built their family, welcoming five wonderful children-Martin, Julio Jr., Elizabeth, Yolanda, and Fernando. Julio's legacy continued to grow with the arrival of his six beloved grandchildren, Andy, Daniel, Christopher, Sandra, Alexis, and Isabel.
In his quest for a better life, Julio made the brave journey to the United States, subsequently reuniting with Ofelia as they embarked on their new life together. His dedication to providing for his family was evident in his 27-year career as a mason. Julio's hands, strong from his labor, were equally tender in the loving embrace of his wife, Ofelia, who admired his handsome charm until his final days.
Julio's passion for life was infectious. His love for Cumbia and Norteñas music would often find him swaying to the rhythm with Ofelia by his side, a sight that would light up any room. His earlier years playing the guitar instilled in him a musical soul that resonated in every note. Boxing was more than a sport to Julio; it was an intense focus that captured his full attention, illustrating his spirited nature.
A man who found joy in the company of others, Julio was the life of every family gathering. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, especially with a playful charm that Ofelia playfully noted, made him a beloved figure. His sense of humor and penchant for laughter were gifts that he shared generously, ensuring that smiles were ever-present in his company.
Traveling brought Julio and Ofelia cherished memories, with trips to Hawaii ranking among their most treasured experiences. Together, they explored the beauty of the world, always returning home with stories and a deeper appreciation for each other.
Julio's faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devout Catholic, he prayed with fervor and was particularly devoted to Santo Niño de Atocha. His pilgrimage to the church in Plateros Zacatecas was a spiritual journey that reflected his deep commitment to his beliefs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ofelia; their children and grandchildren; his sisters, Ofrelina, Lucila, and Maria; and brothers, Bulmaro and Armando. Julio was preceded in death by his sister, Antonia, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.
