Julio Lopez Jr., of Riviera, Texas, entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on April 11, 1961, Julio was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Julio worked as a cook at Barn Door and Brush Country in Riviera, where he shared his talent and love for food with others. His dedication and cheerful spirit touched many lives, both in the kitchen and throughout the community. Known for his ever-present smile and kind words, Julio enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors at the Post Office, Dollar General, and Stripes in Riviera.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio Lopez Sr. and Evangelina De La Rosa Lopez, and by his sister, Norma Lopez Moya.
Julio is survived by his loving tías Emma Prado, Connie (Pete) Mireles, and Elida (Bobby) Ruiz. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
The Family will receive condolences on Friday, August 29, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Riviera Cemetery in Riviera, Texas.
