Julius "Jules" Giannerini, a beloved family man, was called home to the Lord on October 27, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on February 26, 1944, in Morris, Illinois, to Otto and Loarine Giannerini, Jules grew up surrounded by the enduring values of faith, hard work, and love.
Jules graduated from Dwight High School in 1962 and quickly became a well-known and respected member of the local workforce. For 18 years, he dedicated himself to Clapp's supermarket in Dwight as the produce manager, enriching the lives of both customers and colleagues with his friendly smile and helpful nature. In 1978, Jules began working as a grain handler at ADM Growmark in Morris, where he continued to contribute his wisdom and diligence until his retirement in 2007.
Throughout his life, Jules was a devout Christian, reinforcing his faith through active participation in his church community. His role as a greeter allowed him to welcome fellow congregants with his characteristic warmth, and he found great joy in the fellowship of Christian concerts alongside his daughter Erica and grandsons Austin and Benjamin.
Jules's adventurous spirit led him to embrace travel as a cherished pastime. He embarked on numerous journeys with his daughter Amy and grandson Xavier, creating memories that will be treasured forever. A lover of classic cars, he frequented car shows and shared his passion for racing events with his son Brian. In 2012, embracing the snowbird lifestyle, Jules found delight in the Florida sunshine during the winter months, forming lasting friendships and immersing himself in the vibrant community there.
Left to honor Jules's memory are his loving children, Brian (Jamie) Giannerini, Erica (Abel) Flores, and Amy Giannerini. His legacy also lives on through his grandsons Ryan, Jared, Austin, Benjamin, and Xavier, as well as his seven great-grandchildren. His brother Aldo Giannerini, along with many nieces and nephews, will miss his guidance and companionship. Jules now rejoins his beloved parents and his brother Albert "Jiggs" Giannerini in eternal rest.
Described by those who knew him best as friendly, wise, and loving, Jules's impact on the lives of others was profound and far-reaching. He navigated life's journey with integrity, a sense of humor, and an unwavering commitment to his principles. As we celebrate Jules's life, we are reminded of the countless ways in which he made our world a better place simply by being in it.
As we bid farewell to Jules, we take comfort in the promise of our Christian faith, knowing that he has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Savior. His spirit, a beacon of light and love, will continue to guide us, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
We will gather to honor the life and legacy of Julius "Jules" Giannerini with a service that reflects his faith and the love he shared with us all. As we lay him to rest in Mazon, Illinois, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with gratitude for the time we were given with such an extraordinary man. May he rest in peace in the presence of our Lord, forever cherished and never forgotten.
A visitation for Jules will be held on Monday November 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at U.C. Davis Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. A celebration of life will take place at 12:00 pm following the visitation. He will be laid to rest at Mazon Brookside Cemetery in Mazon immediately after the service.
