Julius Peter Parsick was born on October 28, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey. The first son of Julius P Parsick and Mary Ann Kleinschuster and sibling to Raymond and Rosemary, he married his beloved fiancée Janet Ann Marshuetz on February 2, 1951. Julius graduated from West Side High School in Newark and later attended Rutgers University where he graduated with a BS degree in Accounting. Julius and Janet were married 71 years, until her death in 2022. They lived all over the east coast, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Florida. A Financial Executive, Julius worked in Newark NJ, Allentown PA, and New York City. His big break came in 1970 when he became the Vice-President of Finance for Butte Knitting Mills in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The Butte operations included 6 textile plants and over 36,000 employees in South Carolina alone, at its peak in 1975. Butte also had several other offices and plants in the southeastern United States and Europe. Julius had a special love for the textile plants in Shannon Ireland, where he and Janet traveled to often. Julius would use his numerous business travels as a starting point for him and Janet to take a few weeks traveling in Europe. Whether it was Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Greece or Switzerland they traveled often. He finished his career back where it began in New York City in 1996.
Julius and Janet moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 2001.
In retirement he and Janet enjoyed fine dining, spoiling their grandchildren, cruising and traveling, including multiple visits back to Europe and new ventures to Alaska, Hawaii, a trip through the Panama Canal and later to Russia. He was devoted to his family. Julius passed away on July 10, 2024 and survived by three of his four children Steven (Paula), Susan (Thomas), and Jay Scott; as well as six grandchildren; Jason, Stephanie, Jennifer, Sam, Jack, and Jay Julius, and three great-grandchildren: Andrew, Lincoln, and Lilly. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Ann, his daughter Jill Ann, and his grandson Joseph.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 19, from 5pm-7 pm and a service will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 10 am, at the Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Diabetes Association, a cause near to Julius's heart.
