June "Sissy" Moses

June "Sissy" Moses, 68 of Hiwassee, VA departed this life on June 22,2023 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was cancer free when she met her twin brother Gene in heaven for their birthday celebration. Born on June 22, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware June was a daughter of the late Mason and Helen Garrison Nowell.
Sissy was most proud of the family she and her husband, Richard built. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, washing dishes, fishing, and filling the bucket full of the crab legs she would eat.
In addition to her parents, Sissy is preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Thomas; and brothers, Gene Nowell, and Ronald Nowell.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Moses; sons, Robert Moses Jr. (Cindy), and Timothy Moses (Kristyna Courter); daughter, Jennifer Kennedy (Steven); grandchildren, Amy Moses (Ashley), Roselynn Moses, Zach Moses, Ronald Moses, Steven Kennedy, Cora Kennedy, Joey Kennedy, Quinn Moses, and Brooklyn Moses; great-grandchildren, Skialar Moses, and Lincoln Moses; brothers, Wayne Nowell, and Burton Nowell; sister, Mary Renna; her beloved fur baby and companion, Hero; and her other fur babies.
The family wishes to thank her guardian angel, Charlene Jordan of Blue Ridge Cancer Care Center; and caregivers, Kristyna, Brooklyn, and Cindy for all of the love and care they have given Sissy and the family throughout her illness.
