Paul James (Jimmy) Moses Jr., 79, of Yantis, TX passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 16, 2026.

Born on November 13, 1946, in Lake Charles, LA, to Paul James Moses and Eloise Edwards Moses, Paul grew up in Lake Charles, graduating from LaGrange High School in the Class of 1964. He went on to earn both his B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Louisiana State University.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career at the Dow Chemical Company, working in Midland, MI and Freeport, TX. His innovative work led to 24 U.S. patents, earning him the prestigious title of Dow Scientist a testament to his intellect, creativity, and dedication.

After retiring from Dow, Paul followed his lifelong passion for education and mentoring, teaching chemistry to young adults at Blinn College in Bryan, TX, where he inspired countless students with his knowledge and enthusiasm. Beyond his professional achievements, Paul was deeply committed to serving others. He devoted many years as a Boy Scout Troop Leader, soccer coach, crew chief for Habitat for Humanity home builds, and lead volunteer with the Rains County Good Samaritan. His generosity, leadership, and quiet strength touched many lives in his community.

Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 cherished years, Paula Boyd Moses. He is survived by his children: Paul J. Moses III (Jen), Kim Moses Linden (Chad), Boyd Moses (Kristin), and Todd Moses (Courtney); his grandchildren: Elizabeth, Trinity, and Callen; sister Eva Savoy (Wayne), sister-in-law Jean Moses and numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to share their lives with Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank H. Moses.

Paul will be fondly remembered for his brilliant mind, unwavering service, love of the outdoors, and the deep love he shared with his family. He lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness, intellect, and generosity.
