June Pauline Best Pearson was born, November 23, 1929, in
Vernon, Texas, and went to her eternal home on December 10, 2025.
June graduated high school from Pauls Valley and shortly after married Lon Pearson on June 18, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas. They made their home in Pauls Valley before moving to Norman, Oklahoma where they both worked and enjoyed their grandchildren. June had many careers in her life. She went to nursing school, was a licensed cosmetologist, had her own wedding dress boutique worked several years for the Pauls Valley Democrat and ultimately retired from the Garvin/Cleveland District Attorney's office. After Lon's passing, she returned to Pauls Valley where she was actively involved in the Senior Center serving as their President and activities director for several years until her health began to fail. June was also a cherished volunteer for Valley hospice with the Pauls Valley General hospital giving many hours of her time and pieces of her heart to those in need. June was also a faithful church member and follower of Jesus. She taught Sunday school for many years and many were blessed to hear her voice with the choir, and enjoyed hearing her sing up until her death. The family found numerous bibles and each were written in leaving many notes and her thoughts.
During her retirement years, June was an active member of the Red Hat Society and was ready to travel at a moment's notice. She had quite the collection of clothing and all accessories, including wax Christmas decorations. June's travels did not stop there. She was even blessed to travel to the Holy Land with her dear friend and teacher Miss Ora Ryan.
June spent the last four years of her life at The Willows in Pauls Valley where she always had a smile, a pat on the shoulder or a hug for the other residents that became her friends late in life.
June was preceded in death by her husband Lon (known to most as Lon Jr), daughters Dorothy Jean Pearson and Paula Annette Gibson, a son Lon William Pearson and a great grandson Garrett Wade Rice.
She is survived by her sons, Lonnie Ervin (Lisa) Pearson Norman, and Ronald Dean (Jayne) Pearson of Burlington, Kansas, son-in-law, Jimmy Gibson of Norman; six grandchildren, Cheyenne, Justin and Michah (Skyler) Pearson, Sarah (Ethan) Rice, Deana (Cory) Barbour, and Missy Gibson Hutchison, five great grandchildren, Carter Pearson, Ares Pearson, Josephine Rice, Jennifer Barbour and Madelyn Hutchison, several nieces, nephews and friends.
