Dear Alane, Richard and Rob,
I was so sorry to hear about your mom´s passing. Even at 95, losing a parent leaves a space nothing else quite fills. I´ve been thinking a lot about the three of you and all the years our families spent woven into each other´s lives.
Your mom was such a steady, warm presence-always kind, always welcoming, and always genuinely interested in the people around her. I have so many memories of being at your house and feeling that sense of comfort she created without even trying. And I can´t forget that she was the absolute best cheerleader for our Cubs team. No one routed for us like June Bug. She had a quiet strength that showed in the way she raised all of you, and it´s something I´ve always admired.
Even though life has taken us to different states and different routines, I´ve always valued staying in touch with you. The friendship we built growing up has lasted a lifetime, and that´s something your mom helped shape just by being who she was.
I hope the days ahead bring you more peace than sadness, and that the stories, the laughter, and the long arc of her life give you comfort. She lived a remarkable 95 years, and she leaves behind the three of you who carry her best qualities forward.
Please know I´m thinking of all you and your families and holding your family close in my heart.
With sympathy and friendship,
Paul & Kate Murphy

June Silver personified the title "Friend" for the thirty years I knew her through her efforts at the South Windsor Library. Her always-cheerful acceptance of every challenge presented by our programs and activities kept our focus on welcoming everyone, and her voice still echoes when new projects are launched. I offer condolences to June's family for their loss; she will always be remembered with love.
