June Marcella (Balcon) Walberg passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26th. She leaves behind her beloved family: daughter Kristin Urbach, son Stephen Walberg and his wife Kelley, and her cherished grandchildren Kayleen Walberg, Riley Walberg, Kelsey Urbach, and Kallie Urbach; along with a devoted extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Milt Walberg.

A proud graduate of Syracuse University, June met the love of her life, Milt, during her college years. After graduating, she began her professional career as an assistant buyer and manager at B. Altman's department store on 5th Avenue in New York City.

Following their marriage, June and Milt lived in Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Massachusetts before eventually settling back in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, where they spent many joyful years. There, June formed lifelong friendships through the Newcomers group, played tennis at the Warwick Heights Tennis Club and Warwick Country Club, and sailed with friends aboard Jagare at the East Greenwich Yacht Club. She pursued her passion for design, earning an MFA in Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and founding her own firm, Interior's West- a nod to the Midwest she loved visiting.

June held dear her sailing adventures on Jagare, gatherings at Carpenter's Point in Vermont and in Watch Hill, and her treasured Christmas Eve parties, always highlighted by her joyful piano playing.

She also found great joy at her home on Anna Maria Island, Florida, where she painted, tutored third-grade students, and combed the beaches for the perfect shells. In her later years, she retired to South Kingstown, Rhode Island, where she led both the Indian Run Garden Club and the Friends Group.

Above all, June treasured her role as Grammy and Nana. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.

A strong, intelligent, and lifelong learner, June had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. Details of the celebration of June's life will be announced in the coming days.

A devoted tennis fan and avid player herself, she requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the U.S. Tennis Association Foundation, whose mission is to combine tennis and education to change the lives of underserved youth.
