Juney May "Nadine" Obal

Juney May "Nadine" Obal, nee Massey, of Cuba, MO and formerly of Steelville, MO, was born on Tuesday, December 17, 1946 in Cherryville, MO to James Headley Massey and Rachel "Irene" (Pyatt) Massey. She passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Cuba Manor in Cuba, MO at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 13 days.
Nadine attended Steelville High School. She accepted the Lord early in life and attended Steelville First Assembly of God Church in Steelville, MO. She served as a waitress and a cook and later worked as an aide at an assisted living center. She made friends very easily and enjoyed socializing. She liked to read books, work crossword and word search puzzles. She loved to listen to Elvis Presley and loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed going to the beach in Brownsville, TX and collecting sand dollars. She was a loving daughter, aunt, cousin and friend.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents James Massey and Irene Bryant; stepfather Willie Bryant; brothers Alvin (Elsie) Massey and Billy Joe Massey; brother-in-law Cleve Whittaker.
She is survived by her sister Leoma Whittaker of Pahrump, NV; brother Ed (Edith) Massey of Cuba, MO; special nieces Ruthie (Daryl) Shelton of Pahrump, NV, Lorrie (Donald) Wells of Aurora, MO and Dawn (Mark) Marshall of Poplar Bluff, MO; special nephews Steve Whittaker of Aurora, MO and John (Patrice) Massey of Steelville, MO; other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
