Junior Raymond Edwards, 91, of Frontenac, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Medicalodges of Frontenac.
Junior was born July 25, 1934 to James and Leila (Morain) Edwards in Mindenmines, MO. He started his own business selling greeting cards and worked for Pittsburg Reclaim as a metal reclaim worker. Junior married Emma Maxine McClelland in 1957 and had 5 children together, they later divorced. In 1977, he married Esther Powers, they had two daughters together and then later divorced.
Junior was born with Cerebral Palsy, but that did not keep him from enjoying his life. He had a love for old time cars and demolition derbies. He enjoyed buying old cars to fix-up and resale. He loved to watch football, golf, and wrestling on television, and he enjoyed listening to "old time country music."
Junior is survived by his daughters, Lavon Hoff of Nixa, MO; Neomia Roach of Battlefield, MO; Rhonda Daffron of Fredonia, KS; Crystal Connell of Mountain Home, AR; and Lori Sparks of Bull Shoals, AR; 29 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Junior was proceeded in death by both of his sons, Johnny Allen Edwards, and William Ray "Bud" Edwards; a grandson, Allen Floyd Reynolds; and a great-granddaughter, Brie Reynolds.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Brenner Mortuary with Reverend Dan Moss officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Nashville Cemetery in Nashville, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to be made to Wesley House or Gentiva Hospice, and can be left in care of the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary 114 E Fourth ST Pittsburg, KS 66701.
