Kathryn G. Morton, 74, of Pittsburg, KS passed away at her home at 3:15 am Friday, October 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Kathy was born July 20, 1951 in Greeley, CO to Werner and Opal (Penney) Brand. She grew up in Moorhead, MN. Following in her parents' footsteps in education, she earned her degree from North Dakota State University and taught Home Economics for 43 years. Kathy married Vernon L. Morton on August 9, 1980 in Moorhead, MN. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Penney (Tyler) Moore; a son, Michael Morton; four grandchildren, Gavin Moore, Mackenzie Moore, Sadie Moore, and Vernon M. Morton; and a sister, Elizabeth (William) Devine of West Chester, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She eagerly shared her grandchildren's accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Every week, she made chocolate chip cookies for her husband and grandkids, which are well known by all who had the joy of knowing her. She consistently put others first and was a loyal friend. A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, October 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor's preference and may be left at or mailed the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
