Jurlene Player Hall, of Marianna, FL, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on September 26, 2025 at the age of 97. She was born on May 13, 1928, in Sneads, Florida, to the late Lathe and Gussie Player.

Jurlene married the late Ed L. Hall on May 25, 1946. Her early years led her to Jackson Hospital, where she began her career assisting with administrative duties. She continued her professional path alongside Doctors Richard and Sarah Schulz as an office manager, and later with Dr. Richard at the Jackson Co. Health Department. Her work ethic and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all those she came into contact with professionally.

Her devotion to her faith as a steadfast Christian was exemplified by her active participation in the First Baptist Church Joy Club and Sunday School class. She was a loyal member of the Eastern Star and Mystic Ladies of the Shiners Club.

Known for her remarkable baking skills, she was the heart of her family's culinary traditions, particularly during the holiday season. Her Christmas treats were legendary, and she joyfully shared them with friends, neighbors and family alike.

Family was the cornerstone of Jurlene's life. She is survived by her loving son, Randy Hall and wife, Gwen of Tallahassee; her devoted daughter, Debra Lockey and husband, Calvin of Marianna; her sister, Jeannette Woodham of Cypress, FL; her treasured grandchildren, Heather Cashwell, Stephen Hall and wife, Chrissy, and Chelsea Lockey; and cherished great-grandchildren, Abigail Cashwell, Annyston Cashwell and Layla Hagy. She will also be missed by many nephews and nieces.

Jurlene now joins her beloved husband, Ed Hall; her parents, Lathe and Gussie Player; and her siblings, Milton Player, Lois Rowell, Sue Rigotti, and Ronnie Player, who preceded her in death.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joe Gay and Dr. Julie Harris, ARNP. Also, the loving and caring staff at Emerald Coast Hospice and Ms. Bobbie Williams, her personal caregiver for the past fifteen months. We would like to thank all the wonderful friends, relatives, and neighbors that stopped in to visit her and provide food, conversation and memories that they shared together.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Vince Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are J.R. Player, Sean Player, Mike Taylor, Charles Clark, Chuck Brodgon, and Dell Hughes.

The family would appreciate flowers or memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105), First Baptist Church (2897 Green St., Marianna, FL 32446), or Emerald Coast Hospice (3015 Jefferson St. STE C & E, Marianna, 32446).

Funeral services are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
