Justin Beau Matt
September 5, 1988 ~ January 14, 2024
Justin Beau Matt passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, January 14th, 2024.
He was born on September 5, 1988, in York, Maine, the son of Jeffrey and Michelle Matt.
He was a doting father to three beautiful children and committed his life to bring them joy and happiness. One of his very last gifts to them was a full room make-over where he spent many days renovating, painting and installing wood floors in time for Christmas. His devotion to them was unwavering with many hour-long trips up to dance recitals, cheering competitions, concerts and sports games.
Justin involved his children in his work. He was a skilled carpenter and shared different projects with his children from building birdhouses to shelves and bunk beds. Along the way he taught them family values that his father and grandfather instilled in him; to accomplish your work with excellence, to be humble and produce a genuine product.
His display of character that he demonstrated not only for his kids, but anyone who knew him was of genuine care and compassion for those around him. He was the one you called in the middle of the night for help, the one who would drop everything to be of service for anyone in need.
Justin inherited a wealth of trade knowledge from his father at a young age, which he applied to
his own carpentry business. In all that he did, he strived to serve his customers well and was well praised for his work. Beyond Justin's extensive skills and work ethic, you could often
find him fishing his favorite pond, on a four-wheeling trail, or simply enjoying a game of darts in
the garage with anyone who was daring enough to go against him. Justin enjoyed sharing these
activities with close friends and family, to include his three children he loved deeply.
Justin had a witty sense of humor that was readily available, whether or not the comment
or timing was appropriate. He was always up for a good conversation. At his core, Justin was known for his compassion and comforting words, as he always knew what to say to ease a troubled mind. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Justin is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his three children, Beau age 9, Mara age 8, and Harper age 8; siblings, Jessica Matt, Nicholas Matt and his wife, Amanda Matt, Lucas Matt, and Ethan Matt; loving partner, Rachel Williams; and all who were blessed to be a part of his life.
Celebration of Life will be held at Curtis Lake Church in Sanford on February 3rd at 3:30pm.
Any generous gift to the family will be shared to support his three children and cover funeral expenses.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
