A memorial service to celebrate and remember the life of Justin Lee Stanbro will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Foyil Baptist Church. Justin passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025. He was 46.
Born in Claremore, OK on October 18, 1978, to Rick and Teresa (Burns) Stanbro. Justin attended Foyil and Sequoyah Public Schools. The father of 8 children, and according to his family; the happiest days of his life were when they were born. Justin provided for his family as a truck driver and was currently working for Craig County. He also worked for Home of Hope and according to his family, it was for Justin; one of the most rewarding jobs he ever had.
A man that loved his mother with all his heart and affectionately referred to her as his #1 broad. Justin was a family man with a big heart, and he didn't know what to do with it. He made sure he took every opportunity to make his family know how much he loved them. He was also known as a bit of a jokester and his younger sister Stacy endured the brunt of that most of her life. From telling her she was adopted, and Santa had left her Christmas presents at the neighbors, to making her lay down in the back seat of his 1964 canary yellow ford Galaxie when cruising main street in Claremore. He was an avid collector of baseball cards and rocks. In his younger days baseball was his sport of choice.
Referred to by his family as a "tinkerer", Justin was known for taking things apart to fix them but never getting around to putting them back together. He liked to restore old computers and was somewhat of a techie genius. Justin liked to explore vintage shops looking for that one-of-a-kind treasure. He liked to fish and according to his mother many times in places he wasn't supposed to. He was always rescuing dogs and cats and when he got tired of them, he would simply leave them at a family member's house. He had a phobia of needles and hated getting shots. He was scared of gnomes and cleaned his table with a shop vac. Justin liked old cars and his grandma Burns' green beans.
A man whose life was full, Justin has left a legacy that will live on in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Rick and Teresa Stanbro, children, Tristyn, Alexandria, River, Ryder, Marley, Maisey, Kennedy and Kadance, grandchildren, Gracie, Jacy, Emersyn, Ivy, Isaiah, and Ona, sister, Stacy Carpio and husband Leo, grandfather, Mervin Burns, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Special soul mate Ashley Holt. Justin was preceded in death by his granny Burns and his grandma and grandpa Stanbro.
