It is with a broken heart that we announce that our son, Justin Hyacinth Steger at the age of 17, went home to our Lord on January 27, 2024. He was born on October 24, 2006 in Covington, Louisiana and grew up in Abita Springs, Louisiana where he attended school.
He leaves behind a loving father and mother, of Abita Springs, Louisiana, Adam and Elizabeth (D’Antonio) Steger, a wonderful and loving, sister and friend Jayda Steger who he said was his "guiding star.” He also leaves behind his grandparents Hyacinth and Vickie D’Antonio of Lacombe, Louisiana, Mona Boadle of Winnsboro, Texas, uncles and aunts, Scott and Emily Truitt of Hammond, Louisiana, his godfather and mentor Joshua Mora, of Lacombe, Louisiana, numerous great uncles, aunts and cousins, Brooke Bradberry, Noah Miller and William Helms, as well as very special friends.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Charles and Maria D’Antonio, Robert and Cynthia Boadle, as well as his uncle Justin Guy Steger.
He graduated from the Army National Guard Youth Challenge Program and was poised to join the United States Marines Corps in the coming weeks. He was a Boy Scout and enjoyed many outdoor adventures with his best friend, Christian DesBordes and all of his Scout friends. He was a member of St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church where he received his first communion and attended Catechism Classes.
He loved muscle cars, Legos, and good times with family and friends. He will be remembered for his quick wit and fun-loving personality.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on February 5, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana. A Funeral Mass will commence at St. Joseph Abbey at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.

The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
