Feb 6, 1951 - Feb 11, 2026
On February 11, 2026, Thomas G. Steger entered his eternal home, meeting his Savior and reuniting with family after a battle with cancer. Tom was born on February 6, 1951, in Spokane, WA, where, after 50 years in Seattle, he returned home to Spokane to retire.
After graduating from EWSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Tom worked at The Boeing Company for 36 years. After a short retirement, he worked at Snoqualmie Casino as an event attendant/security for the entertainers for 8 years – his favorite job ever. Along with that, he and his wife had a craft business for 28 years, displaying and selling their crafts at bazaars, craft shows, and Bingo Bags for Tulalip Casino. He did all the initial cutting/sewing work and left the finish work to Jackie. His engaging smile and conversation will be missed not only by the customers but vendors as well. He always had time to chat, answer questions, and help anyone needing it.
His love for people was unlimited. On Sundays, he would go to the local retirement community and call Bingo - making sure he knew each resident's lucky number. He was a volunteer officer of his homeowner's association in Renton for 26 years, President of the Washington State Bowlers Association, and helped raise money for Eastside Domestic Violence in Bellevue, WA. This came after his fundraisers while in college, the Kissing Marathon and Barrel Racing.
Tom said he had lived a full life, traveling around the world twice, having a successful career, and as an avid bowler, being placed in the Washington State Bowlers Hall of Fame, as well as bowling a perfect 300 game more than once. He participated in the USBC Open Championships for 30 years.
His presence and love of life will be missed by his wife, Jackie; sisters-in-law, Tamie & Margo; brother-in-law, Larry; and numerous nieces and nephews, not to mention his many friends. We love you, Tom, and look forward to the day we reunite in Heaven.
A viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral & Cremation on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Graveside Service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Terrace on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 am, with a Church Service to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4704 N. Wall St., Spokane, WA, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:30 am.
