COLESBURG, IOWA
Patrick A. Steger, 83, of Colesburg, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at St. Patrick Parish Hall in Colesburg, Iowa. Visitation will continue from 9 – 10 a.m. at the parish hall prior to funeral services.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colesburg, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Paul Baldwin will officiate.
Patrick was born on September 28, 1942, in New Vienna, Iowa, son of Arnold and Gertrude (Lansing) Steger. He married Margery Manders in 1963. Together they lived and raised their children near Colesburg at the farm. He would go on to trucking for several years, which he enjoyed. He loved good coffee and conversation with family and friends. Pat attended several sporting events for his children and grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bingo in his later years.
Survivors include his wife, Margery; children: Dave Steger of Colesburg, Tom (Brenda) Steger of Guttenberg, Jeff (Lynette) Steger of Garber, Steve (Wendy) Steger of Harrington, KS, Sue (Mike) Schnieders of Dundee, Doug (Heather) Steger of Colesburg, Melissa (Jerod) Perrinjaquet of Edgewood; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: sister, Mary Ann Bonert; sisters-in-law: Rosemary Nickol and Carol Steger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lillian (Jim) Wessels, Robert (Lillian) Steger, John Steger, Charles Steger; and a brother-in-law, Bill Bonert.
The family would like to thank the staff at Strawberry Point Lutheran Home and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care.
