J.W. Dupree

J.W. Dupree passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 88. He was a retired Iberville Parish Deputy serving for 13 years and a commercial fisherman; resident and native of Bayou Sorrel, LA. Visitation will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 9am until religious services at 1pm, conducted by Pastor Mitch Collier. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. J.W. is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vickie Dupree; children, Jason Dupree and wife DeeDee, Timmy Settoon and wife Sandy, and Mallory Dupree; grandchildren, Tayler Creighton, Taylor Carbo, Hunter and Haleigh Settoon, Krislynn Dupre, Amber Bourg, Beau and Aiden Marcel, Allie Breaux; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Landon and Luke Dupre; sister, Jearretta Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter, Donna Marcel; mother, Thelma "Grace" McQuiston; father, Woodrow "Dup" Dupree; and sister, Lila McClure. Pallbearers will be Jason Dupree, Timmy and Hunter Settoon, Beau Marcel, Travis King and Jud Wayne Collier. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lee Daley, Mitch and Wayne Collier.
