Kadeem Curtis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ely Funeral Home - Neptune on Jan. 27, 2026.
Kadeem Curtis was born on April 8, 1995, in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica. At ten months old, she migrated to the United States with her mother and sisters to reunite with her grandparents, aunts, and uncles. From an early age, Kadeem was surrounded by love, a foundation she carried with her throughout her life. She attended Mt. Carmel School and later Neptune High School, where she discovered her passion for athletics. Kadeem played field hockey, was a cheerleader, and found her greatest love in track and field. As a dedicated hurdler and mid- distance runner, she helped lead her team to state championships. Anyone who met Kadeem was instantly drawn to her radiant smile, joyful spirit, and genuine kindness. She was deeply loved by many. With a heart for service, she also volunteered at Riverview Hospital, offering care and compassion to others. Kadeem went on to attend Coppin State University on a full athletic scholarship, majoring in Accounting. She earned All-MEAC honors as a runner and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. She later pursued a career in cybersecurity.

Despite all she accomplished, Kadeem held her family closest to her heart. She was joyful, affectionate, fearless, and generous-always ready to help and uplift those around her. She lived life fully, traveling to Africa, Dubai, the Caribbean, and across the United States. In 2025, Kadeem joyfully became engaged to her fiancé, Adebisi Adekola, as they looked forward to building a life together.

Kadeem is survived by her beloved grandmother, Claris Wilson; her parents, Jenniffer and Earl Curtis; her siblings, Shannon, Marlon, Maradonna, Carla, Kimberly, and Chemaine; her in-laws, Roderick, Cassandra, and Nijah; her nephews, Kevon, Anthony, Kemar, Alexander, Jaiden-Kadeem; and her nieces, Aliya, London, Ari, Mackenzie, and Cameron. She is also survived by her beloved godson, Kellan Carey; her best friends, Brietta and Lexi; and aunts, uncles, and cousins, who loved her dearly. Kadeem was predeceased by her grandfather, Valentine George, and her uncle, Ewart Wilson.
