Kaitlyn Nichole Clark, age 30, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025. She was born January 18, 1995 in Mansfield, Ohio. The daughter of Brian & Dana Clark, sister of Tyler Clark, fiancé of Zachary Lizenby. Kate was affectionately known as Kaity, Kaitlyn or Kate.

Kate was a shining light in the eyes of all that knew her. Her journey on earth was marked by the love for her family, friends & dogs. Kate could fill a room with joy and an infectious laughter. Her passing has left a void in her family, friends and all those touched by her. She asked that we not remember her for the illness with cancer. But instead, remember the way she lived prior to her year and a half battle and for the impact she had on others that had the pleasure of knowing her. She fought a long hard battle with dignity and courage and is now in the hands of her savior, Jesus Christ, and is free of pain and suffering.

Kate was a graduate of Clarkston High school. She graduated with honors from Oakland University to ultimately attain a successful position at General Motors as a Lean Process Lead. During her college and working career, she mentored many new team members to guide them through the start of their own careers. She enjoyed spending time with family on game nights, watching the Lions, boating, cook outs and hikes with Zach & her dogs. For relaxation, she would visit wineries throughout Michigan taste testing the various wines. She loved music & listened to it as she went through her day and treatments. She also loved making home improvements with her family. She truly cherished spending time with countless friends. Her friends were her tribe and they gave her happiness and fond memories that she carried with her during her battle.

Kate is survived by her parents Brian & Dana Clark, brother Tyler Clark, Fiancé Zach Lizenby, grandmother Sandra Geist and proceeded in death by her grandparents, Alfred Geist, Roy & Judy Clark. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs Maggie & Arya. Although Kate's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing and may we carry forth her legacy of love & compassion in all that we do. As she walks in Heaven with Jesus, her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts. Her family would like to thank her friends, neighbors and family for loving on her throughout her entire life and during her battle. She was supported with love and compassion which helped her fight with a purpose. Her family is grateful for all those who touched her life.

Katie was a great neighbor to have growing up. Whether it was racing around the neighborhood on our bikes or catching up on Lizzie McGuire, she was such a joy to be around. While we didn't see each other as much in the later years, we stayed in touch online. It seemed like she had amazing friends and family supporting her, and I know she wouldn't have taken any of you for granted.

Kate while I have great memories of working with you, I will miss most the way you truly lit up the room with your cheerful, positive manner. You made an impact everywhere you went. I cannot begin to imagine the loss and grief your loved ones are experiencing, but I have them and the whole family in my heart, as well as the wish that your soul rests in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Kate's passing. She was an amazing coworker and friend. We had many discussions about not only work but her wonderful family and friends. She always had a great attitude and spirit about her. She was truly a joy to work with. She will be missed. I am sorry for your loss.

To the Clark family, I am so sorry for your loss of a truly great person and family member. Through my short time of working with Kate at GM, she was such a positive person with great work ethic and candor. My daughter (just so happened to be named Katelynn) was coming of age to graduate high school, and Kate and I talked about her interest in different colleges, and of course she had so many great things to say about Oakland and offered her personal phone number to my daughter for any questions, or ways that she could help. My daughter ended up going to Oakland and joined a program that was ran by one of Kate's close friends there. What a small world, and what a number of ripple effects each person has, especially Kate. We are so saddened to hear this news, and will keep her and your family in our prayers and thoughts, God Bless.

I worked with Kate at GM. I truly enjoyed every interaction I had with her. She was so much fun to be around. She was knowledgeable, hard working and caring. Her laugh and love for life will truly be missed.
