Kandy Chloe Cox, 60, of Forest, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born August 28, 1965, in Sommerset, Kentucky to Howard and Naomi Mayfield. She married Edward Cox on May 28, 1990.
Kandy was a graduate of Clinton Central High School, class of 1983. She went on to earn the LPN and then her RN. She worked at several places over the years including, Clinton House, some home health care, and lastly Wesley Manor for 19 years. She was a member of the Kirklin American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed listening to music, going fishing, camping, traveling with her husband all over the country, especially Kentucky to see her family. Her family was where her heart was, and she loved making memories with them, especially spending time and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her giving and generous spirit. Her caring spirit and love will be missed by those that knew her.
Along with her husband of 35 years, she is survived by her sons, Justin (Lindsey) Cox and Joshua (Miaya Owen) Cox; stepdaughter, Courtney Cox; siblings, Ethel Jean (Dan) Morelli, Terry Mayfield, Barton (Lindy) Mayfield; grandchildren, Adylin, Paisley, Raylan, Hudson, and Wyatt Cox.
She was preceded by her parents; siblings; Hubert Mayfield, Cathy Mayfield, Ames Mayfield; two half-brothers.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is assisting with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kirklin American Legion. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
