Kandy Gilbert

Funeral services for Kandy Gilbert, 65, of Winnsboro, will be 10:00AM Monday, July 28, 2025 in the chapel of Young's Community Memorial Winnsboro with Bro. Carl Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery, near Winnsboro, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the funeral home.

Kandy was born November 19, 1959, in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on July 25, 2025, at her home in Winnsboro. Ms. Kandy will be remembered for her love of football and her unwavering loyalty as a fan of the Tennessee Vols and SEC Football.

She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Rudolph "Rudy" Gilbert; special aunt Margaret "Marg" Russell; special uncle, Howard Russell; and grandparents, Johnny and Eva Gilbert, Tom and Maggie Searcy.

She is survived by her mother, Sadie Searcy Gilbert of Winnsboro; her brother, Tommy Gilbert and wife, Shelia of Winnsboro; her nieces, Cassie Dudden(Brad) of Denham Springs, Maggie Warner(Austin) of Winnsboro; her nephew, Alex Gilbert of Baton Rouge; special and very best friend, Donna Hitt of Winnsboro; special "fur babies" Salem and Mittens; also survived by host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be nieces, Chloe Warner, Sophie Warner, Zoe Warner, Josie Warner, Preslee Dudden, and Aubree Dudden, and nephews, Sammie Warner, Brad Dudden, Austin Warner and Alex Gilbert.

Honorary pallbearers will be special uncles, Bob Gilbert, Charles Gilbert and family friend, Paul Work.

In lieu of flowers and to commemorate Ms. Kandy's legacy, donations can be made to River Cities Humane Society for cats.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving kindness and care shown by the staff of Franklin Medical Center, Legacy, and Compassus.
